Culture Of Death: Organization Flies Banner Above The Kentucky State Fair Advertising The Mailing Of Illegal Abortion Drugs

Gloria Steinem, a prominent feminist and massive abortion advocate, recently died at the age of 92. As one pro-life news organization reporting on her death put it, “Steinem was predeceased by the more than 60 million unborn children whose sacrifice she believed to be essential for a free and feminist society.” What a tragic, but accurate, eulogy for a woman who chose wickedness and to use her life to promote violence against the most vulnerable group of human beings: the unborn. I would not want to be her standing before our Creator God giving account of her life!

The legacy of death that Steinem helped to create will, sadly, continue even though she is gone. One example of this culture of death occurred recently at the Kentucky State Fair, which took place in Louisville, Kentucky—about an hour and a half from us at AiG. During the fair, an abortion nonprofit called Mayday Health rented a plane to fly a banner overhead that said, “Abortion Pills by Mail,” and included a URL for more information. Their explanation for this was that:

“Mayday shares information about abortion pills in states where clinics are banned or restricted. . . . We want everyone to know that safe, effective abortion medication exists.”

[The founder] said there’s a “flood of misinformation” about the safety and efficacy of abortion pills online, and so Mayday doesn’t stop at social media ads promoting mail access to the drugs.

“We’ve found it’s just as important to step outside the digital fight altogether and reach people with facts the old-fashioned, analog way.”

Yes, they are promoting what the KY Attorney General calls “illegal drugs” because they want women to be able to murder their own children here in Kentucky. What a wicked organization. They do all they can to go out of their way to help people murder as many children in the womb as possible. So, so evil.

It’s interesting to note that the article reporting on this story says, “Mayday does not provide abortion pills, but links to several prescribing organizations. All five will mail mifepristone and misoprostol—the two-drug regimen most commonly used to terminate a pregnancy—without confirming the requestor is pregnant or early enough in the pregnancy to take the drugs.”

In other words, these drugs are often mailed with no oversight—even though they are dangerous for the woman (and, of course, deadly for the baby). As I’ve written about before, these drugs have serious and common side effects (a large study showed 1 out of every 10 women who took these drugs had severe complications), including sepsis, infection, and hemorrhaging. They are only intended to be taken early in pregnancy when the baby is small enough to be deprived of nutrients so that he or she dies and then the tiny dead body can be expelled through induced contractions. If the drugs are taken later than about 10 weeks into a pregnancy, the mother faces an increased risk of complications—and yet they will mail them without confirming how far along a woman is! And this nonprofit is promoting this!

It should be no surprise that people who believe it is a woman’s right to murder her own child don’t actually care about the health and safety of women either. Though they call it “health care,” their goal is death: the death of a baby, as convenient as possible. The risk to the mother simply gets in the way, so they downplay that real, demonstrable risk, calling it “a flood of misinformation.” They are putting women in harm’s way and ending the lives of babies made in the image of God. It’s evil.

Yes, the deadly legacy of Gloria Steinem will continue. And unless she repented on her deathbed, she will have to stand before God and give an account for what she did with the life the Lord gave her. And she will be judged for her legacy. “It is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

As Christians, we must fight against the death of the unborn, standing up for these tiny lives—human beings who are made in the image of God: “Open your mouth for the mute, for the justice of all those passing away. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and render justice to the afflicted and needy” (Proverbs 31:8–9).

Has Abortion Desensitized People To The Taking Of Children’s Lives?

The jury foreperson came across as an activist rather than someone sworn to render an impartial verdict. She told the media how excited she became when she thought they were about to return a verdict of not guilty. She said that if there is a retrial, she will be there in support of Clancy. The majority of jurors became incensed with the one holdout. Even if he didn’t express himself particularly well, he had a legal and moral obligation not to surrender an honestly held conviction merely to reach unanimity. That’s how the jury system works. Another juror said the holdout “had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children.”

It’s not possible to say that Talarico has moderated any of his views based on the statements made in this interview, but they are illuminating all the same. As a politician trying to win an election in challenging territory, he is executing the strategy of pivoting to the center. He understands how damaging these past radical statements on gender and sexuality are, and he is trying to erect a hasty shield to protect himself from incoming fire. Talarico may not have changed his beliefs, but he has certainly felt the heat.

Boldly Reaching The ‘Hopeless Generation’: Charlie Kirk’s Legacy—One Year After His Death

Two months after Charlie was murdered, we went to the very campus where it happened—Utah Valley University—and held a Harvest Crusade. We saw many people—college students—give their lives to Jesus Christ. I believe this is a watershed moment—a turning point, especially for the younger generation. Young people, this is your moment. It’s time to stop trying to fit in and be cool. Instead, be bold and courageous. In fact, that may be the coolest thing you can do. Charlie was bold about his faith to the very end, and so should we be.
