An especially disturbing news item caught my attention recently. And although the article only mentions Massachusetts, there are other states where the same pattern applies. Due to the recent COVID-19 health situation, hospitals and urgent care centers around the US are having to cut back on elective procedures in order to allocate resources to growing and anticipated occurrences of the new Coronavirus.

But amidst all this, some states, including Massachusetts, are doubling down to make sure that abortions (i.e., the murder of babies) are done with a business-as-usual attitude. A memorandum of the Bureau of Health Care Safety and Quality in Massachusetts stated that “Terminating a pregnancy is not considered a nonessential, elective invasive procedure for the purpose of this guidance.”

Yet hip and knee replacements, colonoscopies, and similar procedures are considered “nonessential, elective invasive procedures.” Now, I’ll leave it you to consider if being able to walk without pain or getting a procedure done that may detect whether you have colon cancer and thus be life-saving are non-essential or not. But for a health bureau of the state of Massachusetts to have the audacity to claim that murdering babies (a form of child sacrifice) is “essential” and will continue to be offered on demand is nothing short of morally despicable.

There has been a positive news story on this front, though. In a related item, on Wednesday March 18, the Ohio Department of Health ordered all “non-essential and elective surgeries” be temporarily suspended to preserve protective gear for health care workers battling or expected to do so against COVID-19 cases. On Friday, March 20, the state’s Attorney General’s office had sent letters to two of Ohio’s six clinics that provide surgical abortions, ordering them to “immediately stop performing non-essential and elective surgical abortions.” Then on Saturday, March 21, a spokesperson for the Attorney General’s office clarified to CBS News that all of the state’s abortion providers needed to stop offering the procedure.

Of course, that did not sit well with the child killers at Planned Parenthood. The two heads of Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio and Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio Region released a statement to CBS News, declaring: “Planned Parenthood’s top priority is ensuring that every person can continue accessing essential health care, including abortion. We know your health care can’t wait . . . Abortion is an essential, time-sensitive medical procedure.” Yes, they are calling the killing of children “health care.” What an evil world we live in!

The Ohio Attorney General’s office said it would pursue legal action against the clinics if the Health Department determines the facilities are in violation of the order restricting “non-essential” surgeries. So we’ll continue to monitor this situation as it unfolds.

But if this action results in even one baby’s life being saved from the abortion-murdering machine, then we can say that God turned this situation to “beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness . . . .” (Isaiah 61:3 NKJV).
